Tribal belly dance lace-up top?

Hey. :) I'm creating my first Tribal belly dance costume, and I have some pics I like. It seems to me that I should be able to create something similar by drafting a pattern similar to an Italian Renaissance bodice, but making it a bit more snug. It doesn't look like they used boning; I'm going to put in boning where the lace are (front center and sides) because I'm busty and don't want to be leaping all over... Anyone have a better way? Commercial patterns for similar things seem to end at 42" bust, and I'm about 2 inches over that.
