(no subject)
sure enough today was already better... caught up on the orville which actually delved into some pretty serious themes... see there's a race of all male aliens, but one of them gave birth to a female! so there was this big huge thing on whether to operate on her to make her a male alien (basically the transgender controversy) so initially he wasn't going to do it, (since unsurprisingly they feel that females are inferior to males, shocker I know) but one of his fellow crew members shows him Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer as an example of 'being different isn't SO bad', so he finally has a change of heart....
but then he goes in front of the jury back home and she just winds up having to have the surgery anyway.... but his dad does give him a rudolph plush at the end of it as a clever nod to that whole thing... I was honestly surprised they went right at such a heavy topic!
anyway later in the afternoon, the mail arrived and all our games arrived (and my case! which also included a little artbook and a double-sided poster... and a download code for a bonus retro outfit which I'll be sure to wait til I get home to redeem, I made the mistake of doing that with the sonic dlc from that game when I had it, and couldn't use it again so not making that mistake twice)
but then... oh man so this afternoon dad was telling me as they were coming home they'd passed by one of the local sweeto burrito locations (seems to be a luchadore mexican wrestling themed restaurant) and he was thinking of ordering from them for dinner so at about 530 they drove up to get some...
and holy crap that had to be one of the best burritos I've ever eaten! I'm gonna be sad when I go back home only because they don't have any stores down there yet :( it's good stuff and definitely beats the pants off of taco bell, chipotle, and del taco! oh also apparently we all had half-size burritos, which were pretty massive as is, I can't possibly imagine what the full-size ones look like I don't think i have the stomach for it. :P
and even more shocking I went to email their feedback to tell them they have some kick ass burritos and to hopefully expand their stores into california, and the guy emailed back wanting to know what store we went to!!
So I thought that was kinda neat. Also I did get more into Crime Crackers 2 on PSX... it's all in Japanese but I was at least able to finish the first level, so the language barrier hasn't been a problem... yet. we'll see how it goes though. :P
after dinner dad gave randy his games, so I think he's prolly gonna be playing those! hehe ... we should also be having cake later on tonight at some point so that'll be awesome too. I figured today was gonna be better with everything we had planned, I'm glad the mail came through though.
