All things considered...
Right now I'm sitting in the Champaign Library because of the combination of Comcast and Chase sucking the diseased fat one. Anyway...My job at Volition has come to an end; and I have no problem admitting that I would've done anything to be a full-time employee there. And I mean ANYTHING! You can infer whatever you want from that statement, but when it comes to being employed in the video game industry, yes...I would've done anything for a permanent job. Oh well..I was well-paid to sit in front of a monitor and play the unreleased Red Faction game. All I can say is that I'm excited for this game...(I signed an NDA; can't say anymore than that) I have an interview at a place called Mickey's Linen's. They take care of all linen for the restaurants in the area; stuff like chef coats, tablecloths, napkins, etc. The position is for a route manager, not delivery. So far the only downside I can see to this job is it's location; it's in a real meth part of town. In fact, I drove by there just to make sure I knew where it was for tomorrow, and I thought I was lost. But I did find the place, and thankfully, it looks like it's been built in the last 5 years and hasn't had a meth lab explode in it. So let's all hope that I get it, because I'm quickly losing faith in Manpower and in Spherion (the agency that got me the job at Volition) I was told that I had a job lined up after Volition ended, but now it's not there...thanks Manpower! Ugh...all the more reason why I want this job to come through for me...hell, I'm seriously considering going to work at fucking McDonalds right now...that's how bad it's gotten. Of course, they would probably tell me I was over-qualified; yes, I have actually been told that. Eh, I have to go feed the meter; wait, can't do that. Fuck, I'm out of change! Oh well...time to go home and watch a few movies...peace out!
