Ok, so for everyone who hasn't heard, I am no longer employed as a rent-a-tool for Securifuck. Now I did give them notice, albeit via fax, and they chose to disregard both of the faxes I sent them. So apparently it's my fault that I was scheduled to work, even though they were aware I didn't want to continue my employment with them. Oh well, it's no longer my problem. I am now working as a server for the Holiday Inn full time. It's the breakfast shift, which means that I start at 5:30 am, but I'm done by 1:30-2pm every day. I also got a job at Bed Bath and Beyond part time. I'm not sure if that one is going to work out so well, but I will give them a chance. I'm thinking I can make just as much money working as a banquet server for all the banquets at the Holiday Inn. Again, I'm not rushing to judgment here, but I would much rather just work at one establishment doing a few different jobs.
We also get to go up to Schaumburg this weekend for a wedding...personally, I'd prefer not to go, but since Gretchen is the matron of honor, I'm going. In all honesty here, the big reason I'm going is to visit people that I haven't seen since I moved to Urbana. See, it was inferred that I was to be an usher at this wedding, but I was never formally asked. Now it's been inferred that I'm "off the hook" and I don't have to take part in the wedding. Seeing as how I was never asked in the first place, and how every time I ask about it, the only answers I get are second and third hand, I really don't give a fuck. If my wife wasn't in the wedding party, I wouldn't be going. Or, if I did go, I'd probably just show up in jeans and a t-shirt, if I would even bother to show up. One nice this about this whole show is that I'll have a few days off and I'll be able to see some people that I've been missing. (Yes Nicole, I will make it a point to call you while we're up there)
In other news, the car is still running...running quite well, actually. It's lasted longer than Dan and Tony thought it would...hell, Tony didn't think it would make it down here! It's not pretty, but it gets me to where I need to go.
There's really not much else going on, except that I'm working on a project with someone that, I think, has the potential to become something big...more on that later.
