Doggies!
Yesterday,
kaligreeneyes and I went to the local animal shelter and adopted a pair of miniature dachshunds, Heidi and Itsy Bitsy (not our names for them, but we'll keep them). They were two of five dogs a local breeder had to surrender after a foreclosure. Both are older dogs; Heidi is nine and her daughter Itsy Bitsy is seven. Lucky for us, these dogs are extremely well-behaved. At the shelter, Heidi walked right into the carrier and Itsy Bitsy went in with only a little coaxing. When we got home, both dogs made a beeline for the back door. Now, they're sleeping on the bed behind us. They're both performing up to our highest expectations for them. I can't believe we got so lucky with them!
