Yesterday, I mentioned that I was waiting to read what theferrett would have to say about Borders filing for bankruptcty. Today, he had a thoughtful post on the subject, and made a very apt and depressing analogy. I highly recommend you all read it.
Yep. It's survival of the fittest, natural selection, change and adapt or die. That law has been a part of nature since the dawn of time.
I see a lot of companies of all sizes refusing to adapt to the current economy, or changing the wrong things, refusing to pull their head out of the sand. This may sound harsh, but they bring it on themselves by all of that.
OTOH, the ones who ADAPT, and are reborn, will shine. Like Chrysler's "Imported from Detroit" ad campaign. That commercial kicks ass.

Thing is, Cisco's been all but dead for years now. It's just that the media is finally taking notice.
