Active Solution

(So, of course everyone knows about the new NIN album being out. Congrats, Trent. Great stuff. I only wish there were lyrics put to these songs. I'm writing this entry while listening to them. A soundtrack for daydreamers, indeed.)

A lot of people don't seem to understand how to problem solve. Maybe they don't attempt to solve problems because they are afraid of the responsibilities that come with it. Maybe they themselves *are* the problem.

Having a problem solver within a team is important, but even more important is that you are actively attempting to solve problems - problems which the other members of your team don't even know exist yet. Better to tackle them before they grow and fester for months. Tackle them before anyone important has to know or worry about it.

Brainstorm. Hash it out. Reiterate. Spin around and look at it from a different angle. Get up from behind your desk and go somewhere like a park. Go somewhere you haven't been. Do something you haven't done before. Talk to strangers. Eat that ethnic-sounding dish that you can't pronounce.

New ideas come from new experiences.
