My friends! I had a mighty weekend.
It started with me hopping on a train to York on Friday and then, upon my arrival, I wandered around a little bit since I had some time to fill before Andrew arrived to take me to his pad. It was quite nice to have a quick look around York on my own, I haven't really seen much of it (since the previous time I went up to see the Rachel and the Andrew it was mainly a huge drinking session, what a night!) and it was good to begin to 'map out' the place in my head.
Andrew's new place is pretty damn nice, really. I had the sofa as my bed, and it was veryy comfortable. This may have been aided by the copious amounts of beer drunk on Friday night. Yes. The Magnus is damn cool, and his cocktail (The Night Slug) sounds.. well.. it is either going to be glorious or WRONG. But what an idea.
On Saturday The Magnus made a fry up for the four of us (including The Magnus' girlfriend, who was very nice too) and what a niiice fry up that was. Then Andrew and I had a wander round York, where I got to see The Minster! Oh yes! What a fantastic building. I was, truly, in awe of the damn thing. I couldn't stop staring at it. Just. Wow.
Then we went to a pub. *shakes head* Was alcohol a good idea?! Yes!
And then I was dropped off at Rachel's... it felt very much like a child from two divorced parents being shipped from place to place, quite amusing, but very strange too. When I arrived I was all SQUEE because I got to see Rachel! Haha. We had some pizza, listened to some music. And then! Then! she rocked my world by putting on this entirely glam green and gold eye make-up on me, oh yes. We looked damn fiiine.
And then it was off for some cocktails! Where Rachel had the mighty cocktail of mostly alcohol, and a trickle of a mixer. Then to Fibbers, where we had a bit of a dance, a bit of an eye rolling session about all the children trying to be 'cool' and 'fit in'. Ah. Lubricating Tears Of Joy! Genius.
Then on the way back to hers we picked up some garlic bread, a strange man touched the back of my neck whilst trying to walk with me, and then a different man followed us some of the way home whilst telling us to walk faster, and then to run. He was CREEPY.
And as we walked down Rachel's road as she sang opera to me. She has a gorgeous voice, and I loved listening to it. It also led to me dreaming of Rachel singing to me in a Sleeping Beauty-esque way. Very nice. Haha.
And then we listened to The Hold Steady, and I loooved the album! Truly I did. I may have to purchase it. Once my bank account rises above the zero it currently stands at. =\
Then on Sunday we went to The Evil Eye for Sunday lunch. Mmmm. Beef. Very good. Veryyyyyy good.
And then home!
But. What a weekend. And I shall update another time about other things. For now, things are okay in my world.
