According to Strauss and Howe, my generation ( I should say our generation), The Millennials should be the next heroic generation, and they compare us to the GI Generation that fought World War II. At first, I was worried, because I thought, Damn, we suck too much for that, then I came here to post my woe , and was reminded of how many of my friends and relatives are actually over in the Middle East right now fighting for the freedoms of other people.
I never agreed with the war. I didn't want the war, and I still don't like that so many American Soldiers are dieing in the war, but I am VERY Proud of those soldiers. My friends, my cousin, and the men and women I have never met, who make it their lives to protect the ideals of America, and the liberties and rights of all people the world over.
I've wasted a lot of my life, but thanks to you, I have that choice.
I promise, I will never forget that again.
