My day has been completely hectic. First, the real estate called to say 'We've just had a report that you have a window broken'. Why, yes... we do. We told the landlord about it three days ago. Then, Mr Estate Agent tells me 'We require you to inform us of maintaince needs'. Which srikes me as odd, because the landlord told us to tell him directly whenever things go wrong, which we've been doing since the start of me living here, months back. And the landlord had known about the broken window, and his wife had told us he was coming to look at it three days ago. And never did, so. I understand how the landlord may be frustrated though. The window now, and last week replacing the locks for the house because my bedroom got broken into. (Still no sign of my bag, wallet, keys or passport, which whilst they're all cancelled, it would have been useful to know they'd been found.)
So then a guy came out this morning to fix the window. He also put screws in the frames so it shouldn't happen again.
THEN, I went into town to start fixing things up. First I went to the video place, who told me that they need photo ID to produce a new card. I merely put a block on the account for now. Then to the bank to check if that old card I had was still active. It wasn't. So I applied for a student account, which is good as it has no fees, and a visa debit attached, unlike my old card. Then up to the bank where my current (now old) account was. I closed that, after the teller got the crankies and sent me to someone else because she didn't like me closing it. Then to Medicare, to replace that card, because you know, it's like... important and stuff. Then to the library, who told me that I need an incident number from the police before they can issue me a new card, unless I want to pay a fee. Seeing as when I was robbed, they took all the money to my name... I went to get an incident number. So then, to the police station, where I had to try and record everything in it. I have no idea if I even remembered to tell him everything. Then to Centerlink to get a new half-fare concession card, and my low-income health care card. Then back to the library, where they gave me a new card. All in all, waiting time and with having to walk everywhere because I couldn't afford transport, it took me four hours, and I ended up very sore and tired.
It also turns out that my step-father has lost his license for three years, and there's a $2000 fine. (He was drink driving. He doesn't even remember getting in the car. No one was hurt, the car was fine. ) My mother is understandably upset. The current job he has only goes for 18 months, and people often won't hire you when you've lost your licence. He's also the sole wage earner in the family.
However, school starts next month, so I'm pretty nervous. I don't remember if I wrote what I was studying, and I'm too lazy to check, so here's the list:
Advanced English, Legal Studies, Community and Family Studies, Society and Culture, Studies of Religion and Modern History.
I hope at least some of you are familiar with these subjects, because I'm totally going to post random assignment questions when I get stuck on something.
On another note, I am going to attempt to start saving for one of these:

These are all also on my 'I would kill someone to own' list:
