Most ridiculous title ever

This is Trace Adkin's newest song out on the country stations. It's called "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk". I swear by everything that's the real title. (Or some alternate spelling of that crazy last word ( Read more... )

Tim McGraw--"Back When". Not one of his best efforts on that CD. (That honor easily goes to "Live Like You Were Dying", with "We Carry On" a close second.)

But "Honky-tonk Badonkadonk" is just so damn catchy! You just have to move with that beat, even though the lyrics are so weird.

Yes! "Live Like You Were Dying" is an excellent song. I'll crank that one, too. I've never been too fond of Tim McGraw, but some of his are all right. "Back When", is not. Thanks for getting the title... with Trace playing in the background, I couldn't think of the lyrics. *grins*

I love Tim...and Trace...and Toby. I'm a sucker for a good male voice. (Travis Tritt ranks pretty high on my list, too.)

But getting titles and artists has been a game for about a year and a half. My ex challenged me to see which of us could name more titles and artists, and I've won by a landslide. Now it's just habit.

(And I think perhaps I should sleep--when I'm awake long enough to get replies from East Coasters, it's late.)

"My ex challenged me to see which of us could name more titles and artists,"

*laughs* My ex and I do that, too! They'll randomly call me and be like, "Okay, I have songs for you." Then play some on their computer over the phone, and give me a few seconds, and then I have to name title and artist. *grins*

And yes, you should get to bed. It's early for me, and late for you.

We do it in the car--turn to the country station (because it's the only one I think is worth listening to) and try to name the songs. There are several now I can get with the first note or two--which always earns me really weird looks. (Of course, that's discounting the times I called the song halfway through the previous one...)

And yes, it's late, I know.

Hee. I love the ones I can get in the first five seconds or less. There are some that just start with such a distinct sound/set of notes/spoken phrase, it's easy. Others I just know because country is about all I listen to.

Oh, and Sara+Kelly+MSTness of bad!fic = a wonderful wonderful thing.

Ah, very glad you enjoyed! We always have fun MSTing something.

Ones I can get fast are great, because they're either distinct or such good songs. There are some that start out very similarly ("The Dollar" and "Love Without End" trip me up sometimes), but usually, it takes only an extra couple of seconds to catch the differences.
