Forgive me for radiating smugness. I just saw this posted on the freerepublic.com thread entitled AP: Democrats win control of Senate:
Since Virginia is one of those states that uses electronic voting machines with no paper trail, there isn't any way to do a real recount. All they can do is to add up the numbers again.
That's not going to help. The answer is to require some sort of verifiable paper trail. Here in MN, we use optical readers. The ballot I filled out will be available for a recount, if necessary.
This electronic voting with no audit trail is wrong.
