Year-Ender post

The Ninth year of the Second Millenium AD: The nineteenth year of my life. As the year ends tonight, I look back at what happened, and give a chance to LOL and to learn at my mistakes, and to count my blessings. I do this because I can... Not that I feel obliged to, but I guess it's just rewarding to look back at the past 365 days, and revel into what happened. So here goes...

WARNING: monstrously huge post ahead.
 Goals met: 2009
364 days ago, I set upon myself a couple of goals (more like hopes, actually) for this 2009. Upon reviewing them, however, I realized how utterly pathetic, even to the point of being childishly naive those hopes were. Haha. Anyway, Here compiled are my hopes for this year, and what happened to them...
I want to get past the remainder of my second year at the University. That I did. Not splendidly, but I hung in there. My second year was probably the time of my life at the University... I was catching up to all the subjects I was lagging behind, and learning everything the hard way. I guess I achieved a newfound independence since I was detached somewhat from my block, which made me concentrate more on things I liked, thus lowering my stress levels... anyway......hopefully get it to the Dean's List, and to have better relations with my peers. I didn't get into the dean's list. But my grades are improving...somewhat. Though I did flounder during the second semester, My grades during the summer term and first semester are among the highest I've gotten in my three years at the university. As for my relations with my peers, I guess they stayed roughly the same... Though I don't get paranoia much lately, Haha. XD
...I hope that this year will bring forth improvements to the University which would mean improvements to the country. Okay... By this time, I've realized, MY LIFE REVOLVES AROUND SCHOOL. GAH. I don't even remember hoping such a thing. What the hell was I thinking back then? Did I not have a life? Seriously! Anyway, the School was repainted, refurbished, and then some. There. Must I be happy now?
...I hope the road will be less thorny, but rough nonetheless. Who am I kidding? The year wasn't a road. It was a freaking roller-coaster... with thorns! Imagine that for a second... Yeah...
...I hope this year will bring about my first taste of romance (haha). I'm still working on that one. :3

The year that was in Domestic Affairs:Nothing really significant happened during the first months of the year. Looking back, I don't see anything of note... I even had to resort at looking at my previous blog posts to really put anything here... But most of the year passed and my rants are all trivial, nothing much to really say. My two younger cousins on my mother's side (my favorite cousins, of course), both turned 18 and joined the world of adults...I guess that's something worth mentioning. Apart from that, everything pales in comparison to my father finally succumbing to his long battle with heart disease back in early October. I took it pretty well, and just saw it as another hurdle to pass through... Not that I'm immersed in apathy or anything, but I guess I was just too well-prepared for it. After that, my eldest cousin got married late this year. Nothing much on that.
The year that was in School:I may already have digressed this enough on my previous discussions, but I feel the need to reiterate: MY LIFE. REVOLVES. AROUND UP.
Anyway, the second semester wasn't really good to me. I had to take the removal exam in Chem 35 (which I passed), so I got a 3.0 there. I also got a 3.0 for Math 74 and Physics 72. The best news was my higher-than-normal grade for Biochem 14: 2.75. 1.75's each for biochem and physics labs, while a 2 for organic chemistry lab. This was the same year Sir Robidillo left for Taiwan, while Sir Baclig left for the Netherlands.
The summer term was kind to me... My classes were... get this... 7AM-7PM EVERY. SINGLE.DAY. XD. haha. Really, and there's this gaping 5-hour hole in my schedule. Which I admit, I spent in Robinson's Ermita instead of the Library, which was closed. XP. Oh, and did I mention my subjects? Math 75 and Math 101. I'm the only person in the batch who took both of them at the same time. Ha! Take that! I got a 2.25 for Math 101 and a 2.5 for Math 75. XD
I only managed a single 3 in the first semester... Which was for Physical Chem. I'm not complaining, though... I deserve that grade. Although I'd prefer it to be higher, LOL. I also got a 2.75 for Chem 27, and a bunch of other higher-than-I-expected grades. It was a good sem. Filled with Physically Chemical, Bioethical, and Microbiological Goodness. Good times... Good times...
I know head towards the middle of the second semester... wish me luck!

by the way, I became head of events and publicity of UPM-OMAKE. XD
The Year that was in Otaku-ness:
I read more manga nowadays. I don't indulge myself in anime like I used to. Though I did watch the first season of Shakugan no Shana, tried CLANNAD (didn't like it), and am still trying to finish Tales of the Abyss. Among the manga I read are the regulare WSJ releases, and the CLAMP double-bill that is xxxHoLiC and TSUBASA: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE. The ending of TRC gave me mixed feelings... A few bits were kind of uncalled for, to say the least. But Holic is getting better, I love the new Watanuki (though I don't intend to cosplay his new look). Other series I read were "The World God Only Knows", "D.Gray-Man", and "Bloody Monday"Cosplay this year was dominated by recyclables. haha. I started the year off with Lloyd Asplund from Code Geass, then redid Watanuki Kimihiro from Holic (but I can has Himawari nao~), Redid Shimura Shinpachi for the Gintama group, and redid Hiiragizawa Eriol from CCS. I'll just surprise you with my future plans. :3
