Hey guys! Long time no update, I know. ^_^;;;
You've probably heard, but in case some of my tv.com friends are reading this, I FINISHED NANOWRIMO!! WHOOOO!!! I'm starting to recover from last week... (I went to sleep at 11:30 or later each night... I'm not used to that... I even fell asleep during a chem test. ^_^;; )
I've got lots of freaking awesome icons and banners that I'm going to upload as soon as I post this entry. Now, onto my anime-filled weekend.
First, Friday night was Light-up Night! I don't know why I look forward to it so much each year. Not much really happens. Stores give out free food, and there's lots of christmas music. And they turn on the lights. I don't know, there's just something about it that I love. But this year I was obliged to work. Luckily, there's still another 14 days before I can legally work past 7 on weekdays, so I only had to work from 5-7. But I had to both work the checkout desk and help with crafts. (I hate helping with crafts. I never know what to say to kids. T_T) So anyway, I'm checking someone out, and there's someone behind them in line. They ask me if we have any books on Pokémon. O_o my first thought is, WTF? You want Pokémon stuff? WHY? Obviously, I couldn't say that. ^_^;; Last week, though, someone came up looking for graphic novels, and I did a graphic novel search for the whole library, and I saw every graphic novel that we owned. There was no Pokémon. If we had something else, I didn't know of it offhand, and I wasn't in the mood to spend ten minutes helping this lady look for stupid Pokémon that we probably didn't have anyway. So I said "no". (Let's face it; if the library had Pokémon stuff, I would probably know.) So then the lady turns to this kid next to her who I didn't see before, and I guess he said something to her (It was really freaking loud in there. There were 5 different crafts going on up there. It was chaos.) So then she turns back to me and says, "Pokémon or Yugioh, something like that." My first thought is, WTF, lady, they have NOTHING to do with each other, except that they both have card games, in which case you might as well compare Pokémon and FMA or Pokémon and Naruto. My second thought is, hey kid, why don't YOU know the fucking difference?! My third thought is, (and I really wanted to say this) yeah, we've got Yugioh, (we've got manga volume 1) but he's too YOUNG for it! Stupid kid! They have absolutely nothing in common besides the fact that they both got insanely blown out of proportion. (Yeah, I'm a rabid and loyal fan, but let's face it, Yugioh yogurt? Yugioh prizes in ceral? What the hell do I want with that?!) YOU STUPID KID!!! NEVER COME IN MY LIBRARY AGAIN!! Of course, I forgot what he looks like, so I'll have a hard time making that happen. ^_^;;; Well, it took me about a second to think all three of those things, and in the end, I just told them politely that we didn't have anything and they left. But that kid ticked me off!! >__<
So then I left and went to light-up night. And nothing happened.
Next day was Saturday, and I thankfully slept in. Mmm... sleep... I got up around 9:30 or 10, and ate for a while. Yugioh's on 4kidstv now, and as much as I hate those bastards and the Yugioh dub, First Duel (episode 6) was on, and that was the first episode I ever saw. So I thought I'd watch it for old-time's sake. It was cute, but not as cool as I remembered. Megan Hollingshed was pretty awesome, though. ^_^ I wish she had stayed for season 4... I cringe every time I hear Bella Hudson in episode 173. Now I just don't listen to it in English. Thankfully the end of that episode is on youtube. (Damn you, Al Kahn! You took the uncuts off of youbtube!!)
Then I went to anime club. I brought FMA just so it would be there if someone wanted to watch it. It wound up being the only DVD we had, so we watched FMA episodes 25-28. (Words of Farewell, Her Reason, Teacher(?), One is All, All is One) Then we started watching Words of Farewell with commentary. It was pretty hilarious.
While I was at the library, I picked up the second Avatar DVD, the first Chrono Crusade DVD, and the first three volumes of Chobits. I still wish Aang would stop acting like an idiot, and they'd stop having some of the dumb jokes (riding the mail chutes in that Earth kingdom city, the crazy old king) but it was really good. I want more!! ^_^ I watched that whole DVD, and almost all of the Chrono Crusade one. I was really happy to finally hear something voiced by Greg Ayres. I met him last year at the anime convention, and he was really cool. I felt bad that I didn't know any of his stuff. He played Chrono! He was good, but I thought that Chrono should have had a slightly deeper voice. Rosette's was a bit annoying, but pretty good. I liked it, though I still don't understand the whole devil situations. How are they summoned? Why is Chrono helping Rosette? I need to watch them again in Japanese.
I read two out of the three Chobits volumes. ^_^ SQUEE!! I love you, CLAMP!! I could do without the constant porn allusions, ^_^;;; but it's really good!! I want to read more!!!
Yeah, so that was my anime-filled weekend. Also, Yugioh: Duelist 18 is scheduled to come out on Tuesday. Last month I got 17 on Monday, a day early, so I'm going to try to get out to the store to see if they have it tomorrow. I didn't really care about 17, it was just the end of Yugi and Bakura's duel and the beginning of Jonouchi and Rishid's duel. But THIS month is none other than Malik and Mai's duel!!! (Where Jonouchi jumps in at the end to block Ra's attack for Mai!!) I've been waiting for this manga for almost two years!!! I WANT THIS MANGA!!! This is pretty much the biggest polarshipping event in the ENTIRE manga!! (Doma was a filler, unfortunately. That would have made some really sweet manga. If they could just keep the Jonouchi x Mai stuff and get rid of all the Atem-going-evil-and-making-Yugi-lose-his-soul-and-then-they-duel-even-though-they're-not-supposed-to-until-the-ceremonial-duel stuff, I'd be happy. Anyway, this is an insanely important volume of manga, and I MUST HAVE IT!! AND THEY BETTER DAMN WELL NOT MESS UP JONOUCHI'S NAME AGAIN!!! Damn it, Viz! SIBLINGS DO NOT REFER TO EACH OTHER BY THEIR LAST NAMES!! Even 4KIDS translated that better than you!!
