PSA: Why I'm not doing Blog Against Racism Week

Jul 18, 2006 14:25

Because as anyone who reads my journal should have figured out by now, I don't need to wait for a special week to post about racism.

LOL

I know this. It used to be, I'd post about racism in 'ebonbird' bunches, but I'd taken a break from that. Break over. Or I'm taking a break from taking a break from that.

I've had a big meta post about race and fandom kicking around for a while now, and when I finally get it together, I'm posting it regardless of the date.

And then I'm going to kick back and wait for the wankstorm...

Agreed. The day I have to wait to post about anything is the day I need to just give it up.

I'm not so much doing it as a bandwagon as I am taking advantage of other people's once-a-year non stupid to clue some bitches in.

Oh, that makes perfect sense. I wish they'd call it "Blog Against Stupidity" Week. Course, we need about 52 of those per year on the Intrawebs.

Shyeah. It's like, shouldn't we be concerned about it all year long?
