Door County's Got Talent!

Sep 18, 2008 00:47

My friend Vicki enjoys watching America's Got Talent. And for the most part I ignore it while she watches. But a couple of the acts drew me into the room because they were so good. (Hard to ignore it when she watches it on my TV in the living room and I am right on the other side of the wall! LOL)

One of them, Eli Mattson, grew up in Door County (where I live). And there has been a bit of a buzz about supporting the local boy who has finally made it to the big time.

This is not my local newspaper, but has a nice article on the guy:

You can listen to get an idea of what his music is like at his myspace:

He really has an interesting voice. Last night the song he chose to sing was "Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word" by Elton John. He really did a great job with it... and I hope they put up a video of it at YouTube soon so that the rest of you can give it a listen.

Here is the link for the one from last week: ("If I ain't got you" by Alicia Keys)

But for now, I thought ya'll might enjoy this little tidbit they did at a local resort (Jacksonport's Square Rigger Resort), about 10 minutes north of me. Not far from the very scenic Cave Point county park.

You can see Lake Michigan in the background as Eli and another contender... the awesome Neal E. Boyd have fun singing Billy Joel's "Captain Jack."

While "Captain Jack" might not be my cup of tea, I do think the guy has talent.
I'd buy his album!
