Random: My Amazon.com wishlist is up to 449 items at a grand total of $9,170.50 I don't ask for much, do I? lol.
Obviously, I'm at work and B.O.R.E.D.
Well, Sara and I had a nice talk. We keep putting off kids for the sake of my schooling. Well, I'll be 36 by the time I became a practicioner. I believe very strongly about staying home with the little ones until they're at least 4 or 5. 36 is rather old for having babies. And if I decide that I, in fact, don't want to be a doctor, then I'm still running out of childbearing years. Point is, by the time I figure out what the hell I'm going to do for a career, it'll be (mostly) too late to have kids.
So, children have become a greater priority. But that requires us being financially independent and stable. Now, you all know me. I can't keep things simple, nor can I figging stick to anything. (it seems) However, I've wanted this damn land and house forever. But I can't keep it simple, because I don't want to be stuck in a mortgage. Refuse to be, in fact.
I found out that I'd have to find a place in Iowa that isn't under the Jurisdiction of a building inspector in order to build the house that I want. Which rather sucks, because, despite the obvious conflicts that would arrise, I'd rather have that extra professional signing off on this house.
Guyz, if I succeed, it'll be the only house in the states built like this. I suppose it's rather obvious that the only place I'll be able to build it is where the 'professional's' have no say about it. Granted, we're getting a structural engineer to look over it at the very least.
Bad part of all of this, is I have no idea where to start looking for land. I'm so ready to go to a real estate agent. lol. Amusingly, we'd actually save money if I take a loan out on the land now, buy in the next couple of months, and build. Not likely, but it's worth a shot.
Still got lotsa hoops to jump through.
