Apr 11- Apollo 13 is launched. We need to go back to the moon, methinks.

May 17-Thor Heyerdahl sets sail in RaII from Morocco. It landed in Barbados 57 days later. *
Jun 10- Nixon lowers the voting age to 18.
Jun 22-Led Zeppelin performs in Iceland, which inspires Immigrant Song (this is so cool!)*
Jun 28- Ground troops withdraw from Cambodia.*
Jul 21-Aswan Dam is completed. What they don’t say is that thousands of years of history were lost. *
Aug 26-31: Isle of Wight Festival. Bigger than Woodstock.*
Sep 9- Elvis begins his first tour since 1958 in Phoenix.
Sep 11-The day The Pinto is introduced.
Sep 18- RIP, Jimi. RIP.*
Sep 29- Congress gives Nixon authority to sell arms to Israel. *
Oct 4- Goodbye, Janis.*
Oct 5- PBS begins broadcasting. * (can’t find what the first thing broadcast was. Wonder if it was a pledge)
Oct 10-Fiji becomes independent. *
Oct 26-Doonesbury debuts! *
Nov 23 Oklahoma! Makes its network TV debut as a 3 hour Thanksgiving special.
Dec 31- Paul McCartney sues in Great Britain to dissolve the Beatles’ legal partnership.

That’s some cool stuff. So. No, really. What happened the year you were born? What do you find interesting about it? You can see how my mind kinda works. The ones I’ve starred are the ones I went looking at and through and landed here and there with. The others were mildly interesting, and anything else that was left was just… Meh.
