Character History: Shademan is a NetNavi created by Dr. Regal, the adopted son of Dr. Wily - though Shademan was never aware of it until later in life. He was installed as the leader of Regal's group of criminal NetNavis, the Darkloids. In their first few campaigns, Shademan coordinated the efforts that took control of the internet city and transformed it into a haven for Darkloids, and also attacked a research facility using the ability to enter the real world via technology that created a “dimensional area.” Though his underling Beastman failed, Shademan managed to do what he couldn't and steal a number of synchro chips from the researchers at SciLab.

Shademan continued to serve as the leader of the Darkloids, but became frustrated as he discovered the true nature of the Dark Chips that he and the other Darkloids used to increase their power and sow about the network - they increased power using dark energy, but at the same time destroyed a Net Navi's soul. It was not the effect of the Dark Chips that troubled Shademan the most, as he himself had been created with a percentage of that dark energy, possessing a “dark aura” of his own. Rather, he was frustrated by the idea that their distant, unseen leader was using them all so callously without thought for their well being.

It is at this point that Shademan and the Darkloids' history diverges from the anime series and enters the multi-fandom Mega Man crossover role-play, Reality Vanish. Dr. Regal's NetNavi, Laserman, appears, and ousts ShadeMan from his position - not nearly deleting him as he did in canon but forcing him into continued servitude. Shademan and the other Net Navis were then pulled into an alternate universe called “Reality Vanish” during a malfunction with one of their Dimensional Area generators - a dimension where people of various “Mega Man” universes co-existed and where they could substantiate in the material world without the use of Dimensional Areas.

In Reality Vanish, Shademan began scheming to overthrow Laserman while also attempting to undermine him. He also developed a hatred of his fellow Navi, Videoman.EXE, who he had come to see as a fool who was unpunished for his lack of commitment and apparent loyalty. He tried to exterminate Videoman using a highly powerful Dark Chip, but Videoman was saved by some friends he had made that also helped him control the resulting Dark Aura that would have otherwise torn his body apart. Shademan also tried to depose Laserman in all of this, but Laserman was not only fully aware of his plans, but also used them to discredit Shademan. This followed after numerous other embarrassments, such as an attempt to kill an enemy of the Darkloids, a young woman named Princess Pride.

Blaming Videoman for his humiliation, Shademan attacked Videoman's then friend, Jess Illona, and heavily damaged her (she was later repaired and heavily overhauled). Then, he went rogue, retreating deep into the underground of Reality Vanish. There, Shademan prepared to launch a conspiracy of his own, having essentially become what he hated in both Regal and Laserman. He discovered a rare metal called Force Metal, which had the ability to corrupt and also enhance beings in Reality Vanish called reploids. However, this corrupted Shademan's digital structure, and he was seemingly permanently crippled by the effects of the Force Metal

Shademan found his way out of Reality Vanish, and made his way into the multiverse. There, he encountered Elecman and Count Zap, two beings from an iteration of his universe. They helped Shademan, repairing his damaged code... but at the cost of most of his memory and Shademan's own Dark Aura. Shademan departed from them with a lost sense of self and a lack of identity... but deep within him there was an anger and ambition that had to be realized.

Shademan's story ends there. For now.

Shademan Personality: Shademan is extremely self important and vengeful - he was more concerned with the callousness towards HIS life than the abuse of his subordinates by Regal and Laserman. Thus, he has developed a complex directed towards proving himself and attaining personal validation and power. In another time, he would have believed in building a world for Darkloids as he eventually did in canon, but due to his experiences in role-play and Reality Vanish, his ambitions are more in line with personal greed and pride. This has not changed even with his loss of memory - the emotions and personality elements are all there, but he lacks the specific memories attached to them.

Beyond that, Shademan puts on a somewhat dignified air befitting his appearance as a vampire-like aristocrat. This is usually used as a farce to lure in unsuspecting villains, but he does tend to lay it on a little thick. This can evaporate when he becomes angered, which usually manifests either as pure rage or quiet malevolence. Shademan is also a decent planner and schemer, which carries over from his time as the leader of the Darkloids - his memory has been effected, not his skills.

Dracmon Personality: Dracmon is extremely sniveling and sycophantic, and refers to Shademan as his “Master.” Basically, he's a digimon version of Igor. Upon evolving, though, he becomes much more psychotic and sadistic, and his sycophantic personality becomes one that delights in pain - though he is still quite loyal to Shademan. This side of him can come out when he's Dracmon, but only rarely, as in that form, he's much weaker than he is when evolved.

Shademan Abilities: Shademan can extend a pair of wings from underneath his arms, giving him the ability to fly. As per his Net Navi powers, he can travel through shadows and manifest “Cyber Bats” to attack for him. This ability is called “Dark Wing.” Furthermore, he can execute a technique called “Bat Recoil”, in which he transforms into a number of Cyber Bats to avoid damage - however, in separating himself, he becomes much more vulnerable. His other offensive attacks are “Wide Claw”, a wide swipe with the claws on his hands, “Noise Crush” or “Echolocation”, a burst of sonic waves, and “Shade Talon”, where he calls upon a black claw made of shadows to attack his enemy. Though these attacks all vary in effectiveness and range, they are all only as powerful as an Adult Level digimon's offensive attacks.

Dracmon Abilities: As Dracmon, Dracmon has only two skills: his two attacks. The first, “Undead Fang,” is simply a biting attack with his fangs. The second is “Eye of Nightmare,” in which he uses the eyes on his palms to hypnotize his enemies and trap them in a nightmare. He also sees through these eyes, which has the effect of giving him a much wider (and potentially disorienting) field of vision than other digimon have.
