Oneshot| So This is How the Story Goes

Once upon a time, a poor farmer’s son named Yunho. Yunho wanted very much to go to the city and join  the player’s guild- he really had since a traveling band came to the nearby village years before- and he traveled far, far away from his family to the city to chase his dream.

Instead of the grandeur that he had imagined, Yunho found himself alone without a helping hand in a place of cutpurses and other dishonest folk and he began to regret his decision... until one rainy day, he met a boy from a traveling player’s group named Junsu. Junsu befriended Yunho and took him out of the rain and into his home, helping Yunho to learn the trade and eventually taking Yunho with when the players left to roam the countryside.

They were inseparable and it didn’t take very long for Yunho and Junsu to fall in love.

They lived a happily ever after until the day that Yunho decided that he wanted to settle down back in his hometown and Junsu wanted to continue traveling with the band and they couldn’t decide who was more right than the other.

In the end, Yunho left and Junsu stayed and neither was happy.

-

Once upon a time, there were two boys in a ninja village named Junsu and Yunho and they were best-best-best-best friends, almost family. They played together, trained together, worked together, became ninja together and it seemed like nothing could come between them.

The funny thing was, Junsu loved Yunho, and Yunho loved Junsu, but Yunho blinded himself to the fact and pretended that that wasn’t true. He married a beautiful woman- the perfect woman- instead and had wonderful children, and Junsu pretended to be happy for them even though he really couldn’t possibly be so.

Yunho didn’t learn that until all was said and done and it was much too late.

-

Once upon a time, there was a great emperor named Yunho and a courtesan named Junsu. They fell in love and were so close to being together when Junsu fell terribly ill.

Yunho searched far and wide for a cure to help Junsu, but in the end, Yunho could not save him and Junsu slipped away. Yunho returned to his family and tried to be happy again, but he could never forget Junsu and he never ever wanted to.

-

Now, listen carefully because this one happened for real. Once upon a time, a country boy named Yunho wanted to dance more than anything so he left everything he had behind to go to the city and become a star.

Yunho found that the city wasn’t as great as people always said it was and he grew to hate it. He was poor and alone and had no way to get back home and he was always sad and angry until the day he met Junsu, the one thing in the city that Yunho liked from the very start. Junsu was the greatest thing that had ever come to Yunho. He was bright and talented and kind and perfect and Yunho loved him.

It took a while, but Yunho soon found out that Junsu loved him back. Instead of being happy, Yunho was a fool and he pushed Junsu away, mistreated him and denied him and Junsu pretended that it was alright, pretended even to support Yunho when Yunho left his dancing for a wife and started a family. Junsu tried so hard to do what made Yunho happy, but Yunho pretended that he couldn’t see that.

Then one day, Junsu got very, very sick and Yunho realized than that all that mattered was Junsu and even though he immediately went to confess and tried to help Junsu, it was much too late.

Yunho was devastated, but he tried to hold on for the family that he’d built, but after realizing that he’d spent so much time unhappy and realizing that he was even unhappier without Junsu, Yunho couldn’t bear to stay.

Yunho loved Junsu and Junsu loved Yunho and nothing would hold them apart.

“Appa?”

Changmin looked down at the little girl nestled in the circle of his arms and waited patiently. He smiled at her wistfully; she really just looked so much like Yu-

“Yeah, baby-girl?”

She looked up at him in sleepy discontent, “Appa, why don’t you have any happy stories about Junsu and Yunho?”

Changmin fell quiet, a faraway look overtaking him as he lifted his head to gaze at a photo placed across the room. He hugged her to himself a little tighter, sounding absent.

“I’m sorry, baby-girl... I don’t... I don’t think I know any.”

I think I just bastardized the point of fairy tales -.-u and I suppose, as  a sort of hindsight, if this was at all confusing, yes, the little girl at the end is Yunho's daughter and Yes, changmin's taking care of her. The fourth story, binds the first three together and extracts the 'truths' and.. mm, what else... oh, as for what happened to Yunho's wife? Well, idk, You can all imagine. I just.. kind of glossed over her.
