Oneshot| For His Touch

"Yunho, let him go already!"

Junsu hissed at the older boy, grabbing him by the collar and pulling him away from the body slumped on the ground, head snapping up sharply at he sound of feet coming their way. He tugged at Yunho's shirt, eyeing the boy's bloodied knuckles momentarily, before choosing one of the less-used hallways to lead them away.

He kept them running until they nearly ran into an emergency fire exit at the opposite end of the school. He had Yunho pinned against the wall in moments, pulled down to give him the height advantage.

"What the hell is wrong with you, huh? Why d'you always have to terrorize Park Yoochun? He doesn't do anything to you and you still have to go out of your way to beat the shit out of him! What the hell is your deal?"

Yunho avoided Junsu's eyes, making no move to free himself. He mumbled something indistinctly and pushed Junsu away, stalking off towards the main body of the school. Junsu ran after him, grabbing him by the shoulder.

"What was that?"

"Nothing."

"Yunho. Don't play this game with me. It doesn't work with someone who's known you forever."

"I said it's nothing."

Yunho shook him off a little more violently, hastening his pace. Junsu kept up easily, determined, voice raising.

"And I say that's bullshit!"

Yunho spun around, fuming, facing Junsu and using every bit of his height to his advantage.

"Fuck you! I said it's nothing, why won't you just drop it?!"

He made to walk away, but Junsu had a firm grip on his sleeve, head down, feelings obviously hurt, but still determined to get his answer.

"I'm not dropping it because... I don't know, it's not normal to act like this Yunho! It's not normal to be so devoted to kicking one person's ass for no reason! And it's not normal for you to brush things off like this. Something is bothering you, Yunho, and I want to help you. Now, what. did. you. say?"

Yunho breathed out hard, trying to gain an advantage by pinning Junsu with a glare but faltered and averted his eyes instead.

"Look, I don't know why I always have it out for Yoo- for Park! Just, every time I see him... I can't deal with him! He just makes me want to- Argh! stop asking me! I don't fucking know!"

And suddenly, Junsu brought a hand up to force Yunho to look into his eyes, teeth worrying at his lip while he examined the look in the older boy's eyes.

"Yunho... you don't hate Park Yoochun at all, do you...?"

Yunho growled a little in his throat, looking as if he were going to hit Junsu. The younger boy held his ground all the same, gaze intense and inescapable. Tense moments passed, neither saying a word. Somewhere in the main body of the building, the school bell rang and Yunho turned his head, backing down. He pulled away from Junsu, walking down the hall, away, his voice floating back down the empty corridor.

"..so maybe I don't... it doesn't mean anything...."

Junsu shook his head; this was something Yunho would have to figure out himself.

-

Jaejoong came running down the hall, flying to the body slumped by the wall, turning his head and catching a glimpse of a shirt tail disappearing down a hallway. He turned his attention back to the body on the floor, swearing.

"Chun, you with me? You good enough to stand up?"

Yoochun nodded from his spot on the floor, head reeling and self-loathing in full-force. Somehow, Jaejoong got him up and took him outside, leaning him against the cool brick of the school building. There was a sigh from the older boy that might have been disappointed, or understanding, or frustrated, or all and none of the above, but Yoochun ignored it. Jaejoong was quick to check his injuries, a hand made deft at fixing him up probing the tender spots gently.

"Well, you look like shit, but it's not that bad. You'll live... like always."

"Well now that that's settled-"

Yoochun made to get up, but Jaejoong stopped him with a hand on his chest.

"Not so fast, Park. You have a lot of explaining to do," he held onto Yoochun's chin firmly as the younger boy rolled his eyes, "Stop that. I'm just trying to understand why you have fucking death wish!"

Yoochun swatted Jaejoong's hand away easily, pushing himself up to a more comfortable sitting position and wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.

"I don't have any sort of wish, Jae."

"Oh? Then tell me why you seem to run into Jung Yunho everyday with the end result being me peeling you off the floor? Huh?"

Yoochun smirked at Jaejoong, holding back a wince as the action pulled at a bruise swelling his lip.

"I guess I'm just a man-magnet Joongie."

Jaejoong didn't seem in any way amused, and Yoochun knew the older man could see through his facade. He looked away from Jaejoong's glare.

"That wasn't funny. Look, Chun, this isn't normal. Yeah, I can see Jung Yunho going out of his way to beat you up, but you go out of your way to let him! You aren't helpless, Chun. I know you aren't. You could hold your ground in a fair fight, but somehow, it's just never enough to get rid of him. What the hell is going on with you?"

"What, you think I like getting beat up?!"

There was a pregnant pause. Jaejoong hauled himself back off his haunches and  wrapped his arms around his knees, looking away from Yoochun.

"...You see, that's exactly what I'm starting to think."

"What, you think I'm some sort of masochist, Jae? What the hell have you been doing all these years, sitting with your head up your ass?! Just where-"

Jaejoong's fingers pressed against Yoochun's lips, effectively stopping the flow of his words.

"Shut up for a sec, will you? All I mean to say is... you never fight back and... the look in your eyes.. I mean, you can't possibly... tell me you don't like him Chun!"

Silence.

"Chun?"

Yoochun sighed and rolled himself to stand tiredly, stolidly ignoring Jaejoong.

"Chun?"

Jaejoong scrambled to chase after Yoochun, somehow lagging behind even though Yoochun's pace was lacking.

"Fucking answer me Chun!"

Yoochun spun around quickly, a short burst of speed and strength lending him the ability to pin Jaejoong to the brick, eyes shimmering with a mix of anger, sadness, and everything in between. The older boy gasped, reaching out for Yoochun, but not quite making it.

"You want an answer Jae? You want to know why I'm so fucking willing to get beat up by Jung Yunho? You want to know why I stopped being friends with him two years ago, when were fucking best friends?!"

There was a heated stare between them, saying volumes more than any words between them. Jaejoong's resolve broke and he looked away, biting his lip.

"Chun..."

Yoochun released him, storming off towards the entrance to the school, blinking away hot tears. Jaejoong took after him again, grabbing Yoochun's shoulder and turning him around.

"What the hell do you want, Jae?"

Jaejoong shook his head at Yoochun, closing his eyes and lowering his head, "You can't go on like this. I mean... that's crazy! Are you really so desperate to touch him that you're going to go back and get beaten up again?!"

Yoochun pushed at the older boy, anger directed everywhere and nowhere.

"You think you're any better? Don't think I don't know about all of your ploys to get Junsu in bed. You can't say you don't understand what this's like. Besides..." Yoochun turned away, resolute, "At least I have a chance of Yunho understanding. You.. don't know the look in his eyes."

And Jaejoong watched as Yoochun walked away, and closed his eyes. He didn't follow- couldn't- not when he understood all too well for his liking just what the younger boy meant.

-

Yunho bumped into a figure in the hallway on his way back to class, knocking the person off their feet. He mumbled an apology, reaching out a hand to help the other person up, head down.

"Don't worry about it."

Yunho snapped his head up, surprised.

"Yooch- I mean... no-"

Yoochun looked away, their clasped hands forgotten, "It's alright. don't worry about it."

"I'm sorry."

Yunho had to admit surprise at the words coming out of his mouth, a sentiment reflected in Yoochun's eyes. Acting on impulse, Yunho continued, unable to stop the flow of words coming out of his mouth.

"I mean, for everything. I... I don't hate you."

Yoochun snorted a little, a roguish smile spreading over his features.

"Yeah. I don't hate you either."

They looked at each other, chuckles escaping them companionably, almost as though the last two years had been erased. They looked away from each other as the laughter died down, unsure of what to do. Yunho finally noticed their still-linked hands, letting go embarrassedly.

"Err, sorry about th-"

"No, it's okay."

They stood awkwardly for a few more moments, and Yunho attempted another gesture of peace.

"Do you want to... err... lunch? later?"

Yoochun smiled at Yunho charmingly, ecstatic inside though it didn't show.

"Yeah, that'd be nice, Yunho... see ya' then I guess?"

"Yeah... see you then."

And Junsu and Jaejoong watched the interaction at opposite ends of the hall. Twin smiles spreading over their faces.

It seemed that things were finally going to work out.
