in the Briars [locked to those involved]

In a sea of blood red roses, something threatening has appeared.

Granted, there are those that would argue that a rescue team suddenly bursting through a Nexus portal into someone's rose garden is the threatening thing -- but no, not this time. The little group is the one being menaced ( Read more... )

"Blues, no!" The fusion blurred, nearly breaking. Enzan was unable to do anything about V2 pushing him into the ground; all he could do was try to hang onto Blues.

Please stay with me. Please!

The fury echoed with flashes of remembered agony; Blues knew only too well what Blaze was likely to have done.

:: End this -- ::

Blues seemed to have only two goals; to reach V2, and to rip out Blaze's throat. But he stayed with Enzan for the moment ~

V2 yelped and grew very tense, his back started bleeding from the wound created by Blaze. He had to ignore that for now and quickly brought the sword up and then back down on Enzan's blade.

"Kill me!" V2 sounded more angry now but his voice softened, "Trust me."

Blaze snarled, and the blade snapped out again to pierce through V2's shoulder like a razored skewer.

"Don't tempt me, toy."

"get rid of him and be done with it."

"I can't hurt you." Enzan rolled away as V2 swung his sword to strike another blow, getting to his feet in one swift motion.

This will end, Blues. I promise.

His target changed, Enzan twisted the Muramasa sword and dove for Blaze, attempting to thrust the sword right through the bastard's heart.

Twisting in place but not entirely, Blaze struck at Enzan even as the curve of the Muramasa punched between ribs -- grated against something more metal than bone -- and took him off-balance altogether.

As he hit the ground, the blade still wedged in place, his control over V2 shattered as his head impacted.

And a familiar shadow began to materialize beside him.

V2 shook his head and relaxed for a brief moment. He glanced over to Blaze and Enzan but sensing another person caused V2 to shoot a look at the person next to him.

"Blues...?"

:: Who is he ... ::

Blues was trying to get a grip on himself, fury and fear and too many other things -- including a ferocious concern for V2 -- warring all at once.

But, seeing Blaze through Enzan's eyes, he felt suddenly dubious.

:: Master .... ::

Enzan had his head bowed over Blaze, sword still buried deep in his chest. "Die," he hissed. "Die and go to hell, where you belong."

He stood, shaking, and yanked the sword out, spraying blood on himself and the ground. Only then did he see the shadow, and he backed away, expecting it to attack.

Blaze made some faint, indecipherable sound when the blade tore free, but didn't surge up from the briar-strewn ground to lunge after Enzan.

The shadow, on the other hand, resolved itself with a painful flicker; and, crouching over Blaze, ran shaking hands over him til it -- he -- found the injury.

Another Blues ... this one looking worn, and half-fragmented.

V2 slowly followed and lightly put a hand on the Blues' shoulder. He couldn't look at Enzan right now...
