2008 here it is!

We're just about one week into 2008 and things seem to be looking up. I don't full-heartedly believe in New Year Resolutions, but there are a few things that I hope to change with this upcoming year. I won't go into details ('cause I'm too lazy to type it out), but I'm hoping to bring things back to basics. Ex: Regular sleeping habits, healthy eating, continue non-smokingness, not allowing myself to parent my peers, etc..etc.

Earlier in the week I was pleasantly surprised with a visit from my oldest brother and his wifey. They took me out for breakfast and let me drive around the city. I love that they finally got to see where I live and he made an effort to see me as opposed to ME always having to travel THERE. It felt really good.

On the work front, I was ecstatic with my holiday cheque, so I treated myself to purchasing a nice wallet and a ticket to Windsor. Vacation is just around the corner, folks! Essex county better watch out. :P This upcoming pay should also be generous. Recently the company discovered that they hadn't given me a 6% increase in salary that was implemented in October. So I'm getting the retro pay on that, and the adjustment has been made. I honestly hadn't noticed until a few weeks ago.

And finally, last night I went out dancing with Bennie. We went to fly. I met this cute guy, we danced, I had my fun, however I'm always reminded the next morning why I don't go out frequently. Aside from work being dreadful, I always feel a bit bad for not putting as much interest into the people I meet as they do.

I suppose I do it for the ego boost? I had to laugh out loud while I was standing against a wall and a guy stood right infront of me. I looked at him awaiting some sort of opener, or question, or request... I got nothing. I raised an eyebrow at him kinda getting creeped out and finally he spoke, "Lovely, you look absolutely lovely..." He was obviously well intoxicated so I laughed, gave him a pat on the shoulder and got on the dance-floor leaving him either dazed and confused, or attempting not to see doubles. I haven't figured it out.
