Vampire Academy movie

I did mah part and had a a group to go see the movie friday night. We all loved it. Rose and Lissa were perfect and played well off one another. Yes some things where changed from the 1st bk but again its the first bk and the movie can't have everything in it for the fans. The movie is trying to gain non-fans and I think many VA fans are forgetting that fact. Just like fans are forgetting there is a lot of snark with Rose and narrative hello the series in her point of view peoples. I am disappointed in the poor reviews and nitpicking VA fans here in the States are doing to the movie. It seems they forget that the angst and more action happens in the later bks. Also going from bk to film are two different mediums so you aren't to get an exact word for word movie because hello the film makers want the non-fans to pack the theatre.

My other issue is the critic reviews and non-fans claiming the movie is terrible because vampires are played out and the movie is just another Twilight. This thinking is the reason why the public isn't going to take the movie seriously. My question is this if vampires are played out then why is Vampire Diaries, True Blood and Dracula on t.v. currently? Why are their still books being made about them? And NOT every freakin YA bk about vampires is Twilight. As I have been correcting and educating peoples on that VA is a series and movie that is a great role model for young girls due to the two strong female leads in them. apparently the movie going audience doesn't care for main characters that are strong independent women that do not revolve their life around a man. There isn't a focus on a love triangle which apparently is a common belief in every YA bk and that a female main character can't be snarky or funny. VA is different from all the preconceived notions that the public do not want to see or accept. In fact Vampire Academy passes the Bechdel test in film and book form. (the Bechdel test is whether a woman talks to another woman about something else other than a man for more than five mins)

The sad part that is frustrating to me is that the comments and negativity people are saying about Vampire Academy is another reason why there will never be an action movie with a female lead that is good and the men are the side characters. No wonder we will never get a GOOD Wonder Woman movie, which also makes sense that Wolverine is the star in the Days of Futures Past movie instead of Kitty Pryde as it was in the comic book. Apparently America isn't ready for real strong lead female characters that aren't just focused on gaining a boyfriend/husband. Can we just go back to the great movies of the 30s and 40s where women leads like Betty Davis, Joan Crawford, Kathryn Hepburn were the women that everyone wanted to be.
