Backtagging with this character - Y/N?: Considering I do a lot of it myself, there are no problems there.
Note to psychics:
He's obviously intensely loyal to Dream, you don't have to be a psychic to see that. But his feelings for his lord are complicated at best. He wants nothing more than to live up to the duties and expectations Dream has for him, yes; let's face it, he already knows the alternative, and no one wants that, but he also genuinely wants to please him, make him proud. Generally be the "masterpiece" he was made to be, and be a better one at that. He was prepared to do anything for Morpheus, lord creator and father-figure that he was, and likely would've gone as far as to give his own life for him.
And then Morpheus went and committed suicide only a couple weeks later and there wasn't a thing he could do to stop it. Things go slightly downhill from there.
It's probably because of Morpheus' death that he's become so protective over Daniel. Part of him still sees his lord's current incarnation as the little boy he was told to protect and look after, a duty he still continues to perform even though that little boy technically no longer exists. But also because, after seeing Dream die once, he wants to make damn sure that nothing similar can happen again.
Unfortunately, this gets a little harder as time goes on. As innocent as the Corinthian was at his birth, there's a slight problem of other dreams always comparing him to the last Corinthian. Sure, he eats eyes and he may occasionally kill things, but he was made to do that, right? It's not like he's going to suddenly snap and go the same way the other did. But weeks months and years of people constantly assuming that he'll do just that....it tends to make a guy a cynical bastard after a while. It doesn't help that he has his predecessor's memories floating alongside his own, second-hand thoughts and urges making it difficult for him to tell which from what, and sometimes he can't help wondering if they just might be right.
He has some abandonment issues. Some of which might be left over from his predecessor, when Morpheus first left, and probably not helped much by Matthew's sudden disappearance after the fight with Loki, and especially Morpheus' death. Anger management is a big problem as well, and while he does actively refrain from killing, this only means that he'll at least leave someone breathing when he's done with them; if something like blood loss or trauma just happens to occur after the fact, it's nothing to do with him. Luckily, he tends to not go that far without quite a bit of provocation first.
What's okay to mention around him:
He's generally pretty alright with anything, and if it's not he'll definitely let you know. Gods tend to be a bit of a sore subject for him for a variety of reasons. Anything even remotely negative implied against his lord is something he's likely to take offense to, and to some extent the same could be said for (at least most of) the rest of the Endless as well. Bringing up his predecessor is generally an all around bad idea unless he brings him up first, although that's unlikely as it is.
Abilities:
As he was made from the essence of the first Corinthian, it's only natural to assume that he carries many of the same abilities as his predecessor, or at least that's what I assume. He's amazingly strong, being able to fight and take down a god with his bare hands. He has decent hand-to-hand skills, and is an expert with a knife. He's also mentioned as having a perfect memory, and can easily tell if a person is a human or a dream or all those in between.
He also has nasty sharp little teeth where a normal person's eyes would be. This is why he wears those dark sunglasses all the time, and unless you've met him in person or he's told you then your character probably won't know this. These eye-mouths work just the same as normal mouths, both being able to breath, speak, and even eat. And he eats eyes! Which brings us to his next interesting little ability; eating another person's eyes allows him to see the last few moments of what that person saw before they died, and he seems to be able to use the eyes himself for a short period of time.
PLEASE NOTE that unless you happen to be one of the many canon mates that would know (Endless, other dreams, perhaps certain gods), the fact he eats eyes is not permissible IC knowledge for your character unless he tells them. (TO DATE: Jason Bourne David Webb, Spain, Edgeworth) Of course, if your character happens to be close enough, long enough, I see no reason why they wouldn't start to suspect something is seriously up with this picture. (TO DATE: Rose?)
Can I shapeshift/bodyswap/slash: Talk to me first for the first two and I'm sure we can work something out~ And the slash is canon because Gaiman says so, so there should be no problems there. But I will continue pairing him off with wimminz to watch him make funny faces after, so there.
Hugging/kissing/bad-touch:
Thiiiiis kinda depends. In most circumstances he'll probably just brush/tell the person off. Except in the case of bad-touching, in which case you character will very likely find a knife in their eye for their troubles. Cori tends to avoid most contact in general anyway, but with close enough friends he might be inclined to return a small hug or a peck on the cheek/nose/anywhere that causes the most annoyance and-or embarrassment. ....and still probably react the same way to bad-touch regardless, but eh.
Maim/Murder/Death: Maiming is all well and good if your character can manage. Just talk to me first? Death....gotta say no to. Dream is kinda the only one who could bring him back, you see. ....plus, Death would have to step in and no one wants her pissed off. :D;
