Author's Notes: Oh, the wickedness of Lilla.

"It’s not fair," said Jennan quietly, standing in the doorway of the motel room that she, Mora, Lilla and Jamie were staying in. Dean, Sam and Mercer were sleeping across the hall. Lilla looked up from the kitchen table she was sitting at in the dark, eating a bowl of cereal.

"What’s not fair?" asked Lilla, whispering so they wouldn’t wake up Jamie in the next room. Mora was...out. That’s was what she left it at. Jennan crossed her arms and leaned heavily against the door frame, looking her little sister up and down.

"You."

"Excuse me?" Lilla scoffed and went back to eating her cereal. Jennan pushed off the frame and walked toward her, glaring down at Lilla who looked up at Jennan with an amused expression on her face.

"You know exactly what I’m talking about," hissed Jennan, leaning her forearms against the wood table and getting very close to Lilla. "Why do you get to be accepted so easily? It took me weeks just to get them to treat me like a person, let alone a friend. Why do you get to be welcomed with open arms?"

Lilla sighed and pushed her bowl away, scooting back her chair and standing up slowly. She was shorter than Jennan, but not by much, her black hair contrasting against her pale skin.

"Maybe you shouldn’t question what you know, Jen," said Lilla softly. "You said it yourself, they don’t trust you."

"That’s-they trust me," said Jennan, trying to keep her voice steady but it cracked anyways as she tried to think of words. "Dean-he and Mercer- they-"

"Mercer likes me," said Lilla quietly. "He’s not your knight in shining armor and neither is Dean. He was with Mora first, Jen, that’s just the way it’s going to be."

Jennan shook her head as her sisters words hit home. She’d always known Dean and Mora had been together before she’d come along, but hearing that it was going to stay that way....

"Maybe, they just don’t want you," said Lilla softly, looking away from Jennan with false empathy on her face. Jennan didn’t want to believe her, but Lilla had this way to talk her into doing anything.

Jennan turned on her heel and walked away from Lilla towards the motel door. Her hands were shaking as she opened the door and walked out, shutting it behind her with a very quiet snap and leaning against it. Tears slipped down her cheeks and she slid down the door, crumpling into a heap on the ground.
