Wendy looked around as someone walked into her lab.

"Can I help you?" she asked. The man before her shrugged and waved at her awkwardly.

"If you’re Wendy Simms you can," he said. Wendy nodded and the man gave her a smile.

"Adam Ross, I’m the new tech on days."

"Oh!" said Wendy, a smile spreading over her face. "You sent me flowers."

"Yeah, a little peace offering. Some tech’s are a little specific about their things, and I didn’t wan to get off on the wrong foot."

"They’re pretty, thank you," said Wendy, blushing. She’d taken them home and put them in a vase and they were sitting on her bedside table.

"You’re welcome," said Adam. He shifted on his feet and Wendy was reminded fleetingly of Greg, which made her smile widen. "Do you want to get a cup of coffee later?"

"Make it breakfast and I’ll put in a good word for you with the other tech’s."

"Breakfast it is," said Adam with a grin. "When do you take your break."

"I’m not busy now."

"Alright then," said Adam. Wendy smiled at him and pulled off her gloves, leading Adam out of the lab and down the hall. For breakfast.

"Don’t bug me, Erica," said Ryan, pushing past the reporter and into the crime lab. Erica looked almost hurt, but she followed him anyways, catching the elevator before it closed.

"I’m not going to bug you," said Erica. "I just want to talk."

"About my case, right?"

"No! Actually, I was wondering what you were doing tonight."

"Nothing," said Ryan firmly. Erica frowned at him and turned around, pressing the emergency stop button on the elevator and turning back around, her arms crossed over her chest.

"You’re not doing a thing?"

"No."

"Good, then I guess you can go out with me."

"I’m not going down that road again, Erica."

"What road? There are no attachments for this date, Ryan."

"There never are," Erica dropped her head and unfolded her arms.

"I don’t want to get anything from you this time, Ryan. I just, don’t want to be alone."

"What?"

"You know, with everything that’s gone on between us, I always thought you’d be there."

"I'm here now. What do you want?"

"You," said Erica quietly. "Just you. Nothing else."

"Why?" asked Ryan, folding his arms over his chest.

"I need a reason?"

"I’d like one."

"Well, I don’t have one," said Erica, stepping closer to him. "You gotta believe that I don’t want to use you this time."

Ryan didn’t answer her. Wether that was a good thing or a bad thing, Erica didn’t know, but she liked how easy the silence was.

Title: Want To Care With Me?
Author: Liv
Pairing/Characters: Calleigh Duquesne/Greg Sanders
Rating: K
Disclaimer: I don’t own CSI, nor CSI:Miami
Summary: N/A
Authors Note: I had to do something mildly depressing for these two. Two bouncy people need angst to get started.

Calleigh was in a foul mood. She was working on the fourteenth. She didn’t want to, but she had too. What was worse was that she was working with Greg. And he was bound to be perky and optimistic and totally want to make her happy and brighten the lab until it looked like rainbows and glitter would just explode from nothing and she wouldn’t be able to do anything but smile and be happy.

But she didn’t want to be happy. She wanted to be miserable, because at this time of year, she always thought about all the guys she never had anything with and how she could have had them.

She walked into the break room and stopped dead in her tracks. Greg was sitting at the break room table without a smile on
his face, talking on his phone. In fact, Greg looked down right miserable.

"Listen, Catherine, I have to go. Yeah, my flight’s tomorrow. I’ll see you then. Bye."

"Where are you going?" asked Calleigh, the second Greg hung up his phone. He jumped and looked up at her.

"What?" he asked with a frown.

"Where are you going?" Calleigh repeated.

"Vegas. A friend of mine, her funeral’s tomorrow. So...."

"I’m sorry," said Calleigh softly. "When did she die?"

"Couple days ago."

"Which explains the insane mood swing halfway through the day,"s aid Calleigh, almost sadly. "Well, Greg, I myself have lost a few friends, so if you ever want to talk-"

"Yeah," said Greg with a nod. "I’d like that."

"Great."

"You want some coffee?" Calleigh nodded and sat down in the chair across from Greg. Think that at least she wasn’t the only one who couldn’t be with someone they cared about on Valentine’s Day.

Author: Liv
Pairing/Characters: Jennifer Angell/Dan Cooper
Rating: K
Disclaimer: I don’t own CSI:Miami, nor CSI:NY.
Summary: N/A
Authors Note: I can totally picture Dan being a dork

Jennifer was absolutely lost. Maxine had enough courteous to tell her where the A/V lab was without sending her on a wild goose chase, but she was still lost. She didn’t know who she was talking to, and the guy didn’t seem to have any other interest except staring at her patently while she thought about all the ways she could murder Eric Delko, and get away with it.

"Can I help you?" the tech finally said, he quirked an eyebrow at her and she sighed, finally feeling defeated.

"Yeah, this is the A/V lab, obviously, I’m looking for the tape for my case."

"What’s your name?"

"Jennifer Angell."

"Well, no wonder. I thought you-"

"Don’t say it," interupted Jennifer. "I’ve heard every pick up line invoving my last name. It’s not amusing."

"Right. Dan Cooper," he said sheepishly, reaching out his hand for her to take. "Nice to meet you."

"You too."

Title: Over Rated.

Authors Note: I actually enjoyed this one. It’s cute

"Stella threatened me with bodily harm if I didn’t get you something nice. So I improvised and got you something practical."

"It’s very nice too, Danny."

"I do try."

"Seriously, Danny, it’s beautiful."

"I told you, I try."

"Danny."

"What?"

"I love you."

"I know."

"Danny."

"What?!"

"Why?"

"Because I love you."

"That’s the only reason you asked me to marry you?"

"Well, there are other reasons."

"Like...."

"I’m not telling you."

"Fine. Be that way," Danny shook his head and kissed Kaile slowly. After a moment he pulled away. Kaile took a deep breath and swallowed. "You know, Valentine’s Day is over rated."

"Yeah, but it’s not when you’re sitting at home watching The Fox and The Hound, eating chocolate covered everything with someone you love."

"I swear Copper and Tod are gay."

"Even they’re spending the day with someone they love," said Danny rolling his eyes and kissing Kaile’s neck gently.

"They’re cartoon’s, Danny."

"My point, exactly."
