Bras

Joanna was sitting on her bed, staring at Sam and Dean as they worked on their case. Normally she would be helping, but she was thinking of how to word her request without causing her father to have a heart attack. Dean sensed something was on her mind and looked up from Sam’s computer expectantly, catching Joanna’s eye.

“Dad, I need a bra,” Sam choked on his air supply, coughing while Dean just stared at her with a blank look on his face. He blinked at her after a moment.

“You need a what?”

“A bra,” said Joanna. “I’m13 years old. I need girl things.”

Dean squirmed awkwardly in his seat, his mouth opening and closing several times as he tried to find words that could describe how uncomfortable he was. Joanna tried (and failed) to suppress the growing smirk on her face, crossing her arms over her chest.

“You did know I was a girl…right?”

.

“I can’t believe I’m doing this,” muttered Dean, standing awkwardly in a sea of bras with Sam standing next to him.

“Why did I have to come?”

“I’m not doing this alone, dude,” snapped Dean. Joanna seemed to be having too much fun with the situation. She help up something far too lacy for her taste and tilted her head in her dad’s direction.

“What about this one?”

“No!” shouted both Sam and Dean at the same time. An employee looked up from a few feet away.

“Do you need help finding anything?” she asked Joanna, who smiled brightly at her.

“My dad doesn’t know anything about girls, and neither does his life partner,” Joanna smirked, watching Sam’s face redden out of the corner of her eye. “Think you could help me?”

“Sure, sweetie.”

“She really doesn’t help to dispel those gay rumors, does she?”

“No she doesn’t, honeybunch.”

Boys

She was sixteen when she noticed that boys were noticing her. She didn’t care at first, didn’t even bother accepting it. It wasn’t until she realized flirting was how Dean and Sam got info for hunts that she used her looks to her advantage. Dean was not pleased.

“Just let me try it, and if it works, then you can’t complain about it,” said Joanna, lifting a shoulder causally. Dean had his arms crossed over his chest, his eyes narrowed at her. Sam didn’t look any happier.

“Fine,” spat Dean after what seemed like ages, causing a bright smile to cross over Joanna’s face.

“Great!”

.

She had been toying with their target all night. Sam used to complain about her watching porn on his laptop, but she was finding that it paid off. Both Dean and Sam were sitting at the bar staring at her, arms crossed over their chest, glaring at nothing. Sam accidentally spit out his drink after Joanna did something mildly inappropriate, but it worked. Hook and sinker.

After they did the job neither Sam or Dean would speak to her. Joanna just sat in the car looking smug while Dean kept shaking his head.

“Why…just…why?”

“Maybe I can start going on hunts by myself?”

“Absolutely not,” said Dean firmly.

“But-”

“Over. My. Dead. Body.”

“Sam?”

“Over his dead body.”

Other Such Luxuries

“Dad?”

“What’s up?”

“Can I ask you something?” Dean looked up at the seriously tone in Joanna’s voice, watching her play with her food at the diner they were in. “And I want the truth.”

“Alright,” said Dean slowly, picking up his coffee cup, wondering briefly if he should be drinking something.

“I want to know who my mom is,” Dean choked on his coffee, quickly setting down his mug and wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. He stared at Joanna for a long time, weighing the effect his answer would have on her.

“I can’t tell you,” he said seriously.

“Why?”

“I don’t want to hurt you.”

“But-”

“I’m not telling you and that’s final, Jo,” Joanna glared at him and moved to leave.

“Fine.”

Dean sighed as he watched her go. She past by Sam on her way out, saying something to him that made him look over at Dean. Sam took Joanna’s seat across from Dean, leaning his forearms against the table.

“Is there a reason why Jo’s cursing you?”

“She’s Bela’s daughter.”

“No, Dean,” said Sam seriously, catching Dean off guard. “She’s yours.”
