My god. I am SOO tired. I got up at 9:30 am and since 11 am we've been measuring the apartment first, then looking for furniture for about 5 hours, it was so bad.
We were set to get the $2,400 set (that's after haggling, with a memory foam mattress and taxes and delivery) we saw at UFW until the guy told us that they could only deliver it... get this... from Feb. 2nd! At that point we said thank you and goodbye.
Who the fuck sells shit that won't be there for more than 2 months??? Idiots.
So we went to about 7 different stores only to find the ugliest beds on earth with either huge backs or with columns and hell knows what, bourgeoisie bullshit.
Eventually I gave in and we went to Ikea. Where we got everything for less than half of what we were going to pay for the UFW bedroom set alone. And I'm talking bed, bedside table, dresser and another dresser which we'll just add a mirror to later, computer workstation and three bookcases (one large and two small).
Not bad, eh???
Except the assembly part. That always sucks with Ikea since their instructions are made for Trolls or something. Not for normal humans anyway. -_-
But other than that, we saved a shitload of money.
Sure, the mattress will be another $700-800 but that's still nowhere near that crappy little laminate bedroom (this one's wood) that we were going to get.
Their loss for having backorders.
*shrug*
Tomorrow I'm gonna go to Ikea again to get pots, pans, plates, lamps, the mirror, bar stools and the whole shebang. Shebang, heh.
And then they'll deliver the Ikea stuff Wed. night and I'll move in either on the same day (well I'll sleep there anyway but I mean, drag my shit there) or the next morning/noon.
That's it!
These are pictures of my furniture... all the stuff that's light is actually gonna be black-brown, like the workstation and bookcase # 1. So all my furniture will match lol god Ikea is so... so... well you've seen Fight Club. :P Or not. But if you have, you get my point!
So...
Finito!
