The first thing I did after finishing was send a text to a friend here saying only "Oh holy fuck".
AMAZING. Absolutely amazing. Did everything I'd hoped for happen? Of course not. Did stuff I'd hoped WOULDN'T? Of course. In spades, even. But I still loved it. This is the first HP book I've really loved on the first reading since GoF, kids. And those of you who have really talked HP with me know my insane love of OotP, so that means a lot.
It was well written, it wasn't jumpy or over-edited, it was gripping, it was intense, it was heartbreaking and it made my heart go "wibble". I don't want to have to give it to my dad on Monday when I get home.
On a continued HP but non-DH related note - I just got accepted as Luna at
Priscus Oraculum! I'm so excited. I get to play Luna again!
*takes a moment to once again pimp her now AU, compliant through HBP game
