Katara lifted her hand in greeting, waving it in a quick arc and jogging over to where he had arrived. (It was still slightly disorienting, that: seeing people appear.)
"Hey! I'm glad to see you made it here safely."
With his clothes -- his complexion, even -- it was easy to tell that he wasn't from the area.
He was very fair and indeed in a Victorian-style of clothing with wizarding embellishments such as a longer cloak.
He smiled brightly. It was a very disarming expression in person, all charm and he bowed politely but sweepingly. His manner somehow made it seem a more casual gesture.
Katara halted a few feet in front of him, smiling a little at the bow. She balled one hand into a fist, pressing it at the base of her other palm and bowing briefly in traditional fire nation style. He was charming; she'd gathered that much over the community, but she made a note to herself then to not let her guard down too much.
"It's not home, but it's a beautiful country," she said, as if agreeing with him.
"My childhood home is beautiful too," he said, eyeing her with mild curiosity. "Thank you for inviting me, even though it is for an ulterior motive," he winked, meaning the training.
