A Music Post - Middle Ground - Mark Wilkinson

Jul 01, 2013 20:06

I think you may like this song, I love him and all of his songs and first heard him when he was busking a few months ago (yes, he still busks on occasion, which I love the idea of), He has a multitude of great songs but this one is one of my recent favourites. If you want to hear more of his music, he has a channel on youtube:http://www.youtube.com/user/markwilkinsonmusic?feature=watch with over 60 songs and his music is available on iTunes and  for mail order of CDs at : http://www.markwilkinsonmusic.com/store.html which also have links to iTunes for download.

Aussies may find this familiar and for good reason. Snippets of it have been used in an ad on TV over here, but don't let that put you off, he really is a great songwriter/performer, and good luck to him for those lovely royalties he'll be earning from the ad's airing - as a musician, I can appreciate the economic need.

I've been,
Peering out a window,
Trying to find an arrow,
To fire into the rain,

Well you were,
Hidden by the shadows,
Trying to find your way home,
And shelter from the rain,

And I felt close to you,
As you came in to my view,

Hold on for one more year then maybe,
These skies will start to clear,
We can build our love on middle ground,

'Cause I've been,
Walking up the wrong way,
Stranded on a freeway,
Trying to find a lane,

Well you were,
Guarded by the main frame,
Riding in a fast lane,
Too involved to change,

And I felt far from you,
As you slipped out from my view,

Hold on for one more year then maybe,
These skies will start to clear,
We can build our love on middle ground,

Hold on for one more year then maybe,
These paths will lead us here,
We can build our love on middle ground,

'Cause I don't want no one else,
But I have brought this on myself,
'Cause I don't want no one else,
But I have brought this on myself,
Myself,

'Cause I've been,
Peering out a window,
Trying to find an arrow,

And if we hold on for one more year then maybe,
These skies will start to clear,
We can build our love on middle ground,

Middle ground, middle ground, middle ground...
