Take Away Of Terror!

Well, my lovely little lolly popcorns, I think all the trick or treaters have finished here now - and I'm pooped!

I live in an old converted shop, and, being the slack bugger I am, the shop front still has the big TAKE AWAY painted on it, along with a side panel that has 'Freshly Cooked Fish & Chips'. I did remove the big HAMBURGERS on the other shopfront window, as that was vinyl stickers on the outside, so not too big a job - the others are painted on the inside of the glass, with an opaque coat  over - so lots more work to remove.

Anyway - to the point;

This year I decided to do a bit of decorating for Halloween, so got the poster paint out, and my house/old decommissioned shop became

TAKE AWAY OF TERROR! on one window, and I painted MILK BAR OF DOOM on the other, along with

Freshly Cooked Fish KIDS & Chips SPIDERS, along with some cobwebs, spiders, and one rather manky looking bat.

All in dark green poster paint, with a rather thick brush, as I was in a hurry, and couldn't be arsed to use a broader palette - no artistic merit at all, I'm afraid.

I'd planned on doing a rather artistic job, but, because of unforeseen events, I was running terribly late, and so an extremely halfarsed job was done. But the kids loved it and thought it was wonderful, and word spread, resulting in kids coming from town to trick or treat here on top of the usual 20 or so local kids.

I had nearly 70 kids come to the door - and I'd only bought for the usual number! This resulted in my doing an emergency dash into town to buy more lolly popcorn and bubble blowers in my costume, and a waiting line of kids when I got back!

But it was all good, though I'm now pooped!

My son, who'd done a bunk to avoid having to help decorate, was most disappointed when he found out that a group of about 10 of the prettiest girls in his school came calling, one dressed as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, complete with plunging neckline and rather realistic skull, another as Catwoman, and one as a French Maid - complete with fishnets and stilettos!...

I'll point out here that these girls are all around 17 - not little girls - but my son's well liked by the seniors at his school - he's nearly 16.

All were asking for him, and were going to invite him to go along with them - and he missed out - ah, karma's a bitch, isn't it? That'll teach him to think he's too cool for Halloween and nicking off so he didn't have to help!

Anyway, I'm now feeling completely buggered, and unless I cop a few stragglers, it's over for tonight. All I have to do now is to park the car out the back to avoid possible egging, and ... I'm spent!

Happy Halloween all!

Oh - and I did my anime the other day - been using it as an avatar, but here's the larger version - had to flip it to get the hair parting and my 'beauty spot' (read - very dark mole that I always worry about turning malignant, especially in the Aussie sun) on the correct side. Like me, but my hair's longer in rl, and I actually have a nose! But if you've had a few, and you squint just right...

I'll post some pics of the Take Away of Terror if I take some tomorrow - had no time tonight!

anime me, trick or treating, halloween, kids, take away of terror
