I've never really done a meme before, and
willowfaerie2 was doing this one, so I thought I'd give it a go - you post 5 songs beginning with a certain letter over 5 days..
So I asked the ever lovely one for a letter, and she gave me "I" - which I'm quite pleased with, as it gives me a chance to post the first classical piece I can remember listening to as a small child - "In the Hall of the Mountain King" , Op 46 from Peer Gynt by Edvard Grieg - fantastic piece of music, and, I think loved by all.
I think I was about 4yrs old when I first heard it, and I still love it!
So.....without further ado, here's Edvard Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" performed at the Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci by the Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg under the direction of Scott Lawton.

And, if you like things done a bit differently, here's the link to Apocalyptica's version - they're a Finnish heavy metal cello group.
