Head Spins*
Tries to regain balance... well I'll admit I missed a few dragon cons but I thought it was big before I mean BIG. This was crazy! I wonder how many people were there this year? Anyway I had the kids in tow for the first time eva and I was a bit concerned about how they would hold up. Heh.. worry not my geeky friends they were con naturals!
We got in Friday afternoon and headed right over to a 2 hour gaia online panel for them and they were in heaven!
I popped into Evening at Bree a few times and was so happy to see deej_1 , foehelm and Hillary :) I was pretty surprised that I didn't know anyone else there! nyxnightingale and I took the girls around and everyone took her picture!
I didn't get to do as much on Sat as hubby got feeling pretty sick. We did watch the parade in the morning and saw lilia2000 and Fiver, can't believe we didn't find them again. And its terrible all the people I missed seeing all together! Happily I got to spend time with dear old friend hand2hand who I hadn't seen in real life in years, and the ever lovely ringersrock. It was great to catch up and get hugs :)
I did get to meet one new friend, CJ Bloomer an artist from deviant art. I had pre ordered his graphic novel " The Price of Tea" and was spell bound by seeing his work in person here is his website www.nydwyngreendragon.com/ the painting above is his, I bought a large print of it for my oldest daughters room.. she was thrilled! Anyway CJ and his lovely wife had a booth the art show and were such wonderful people. If you enjoy mythic art please check him out!
Taking the girls to see Sean Astin was such fun, Savvy took tons of pictures (more on that later) and we all went to see the Firefly cast, wow what a line! even on the last day we had so so seats after waiting over an hour! The panel was worth the wait, what great chemistry those folks have!
And in just my luck news, my memory card went bad on Sunday. It was a new card in a new camera :( If anyone has pictures of us in our Pirate costumes or Savvy and nyxnightingale in their Sailor Mercury and Mini Moon outfits I'd be so grateful!! I'd also love pictures of you guys, I'm really heartbroken over loosing all the pictures. Having them digital makes it worse because you get a sneak peak of how good they all are!
And so we are recovering :) and planning our costumes for next year!
