Oh, I found it. I went crazy until I found it. It's not really a plus as much as it's a TITANIUM--which means it does about 2139049034203 more things than the regular 89. But today was a very stressful day until I found the thing. They just decided to grill me about wearing my shirt inside out and backwards. I would have changed except...the kid who noticed HAD to be the one I have a history with. /angry face.
I never had an 86--I had a 83+ from seventh grade, when I started sequential I (traumatic experience, a bit,) till tenth grade, when I started Calculus in the second semester. Then I was forced to purchase an 89. (I don't like multivariable calculus. It's stupid and hard and difficult...stupid Syracuse University with their dumb 'Beyond AP' program'
I always wondered, where do these numbers come from? 83, 86, 89...I've never even seen an 88. I would have wanted a TI-88.
My 89 TITANIUM does everything for me. In Physics I just sit there and put problems into my calculator to get the answer--I don't have to run through confusing regressions or regress on an 83 and derive on an 89--my TITANIUM (it must be in uppercase) does everything for me.
There are other numbers, I think. 85s aren't terribly good. The consensus among my friends in high school was that an 83 beat an 85 and an 89 was just too complex. When our teachers showed us how to do graphing, they couldn't make the 89 work right.
Multivariable calculus isn't any different from other calculus as long as you phrase the definitions right and can draw things in the right dimensions. You'll get through it.
And your reasons. You definitely have your reasons.

Once you learn it, an 83 feels like drawing lines in the mud.
