It may have been my DIL's wedding, but I got to plan the actual ceremony from the music to the order to the Scripture readings, etc. When I called to ask if they wanted a candle ceremony, my son told me that they trusted me to come up with the program, and they had other things they needed to take care of, so, please, just handle it! Considering I had to work on the program all night so that I could print it the next day because we were leaving to be in the city for the rehearsal dinner, I didn't do too shabbily throwing it together. They were most appreciative and didn't find any fault. Their wedding was as happy and easy as my sister's.
My own wedding had very little of my touch upon it. My sisters were having prom that year, and I let them select the pattern and material for their dresses. We were poor, so the dresses served for the prom and my wedding. That's how my wedding became light blue, as that was the material they chose. I've never liked it as a color, but baby blue it was. At least, it wasn't orange or yellow!
