What the fuck, Christmas?!
Seriously, I saw Christmas stuff TODAY at K-Mart. And in the home accents store.
What the fuck? Seriously, have we decided that we just don't wanna celebrate Thanksgiving anymore? Are we really that concerned about shopping?
Cartoons, music, and movies changing with the times and the demographic, I'm perfectly okay with. But this... NO! N to the O! NOOOOOOOOHOHOHOOOO!!
Why, because Cartoons are cartoons, music is music, and movies are movies. They're entertainment. But Holidays are different. Holidays are supposed to have a little thing called MEANING.
Thanksgiving used to mean something. It was when we all gave thanks for what we had in our lives, just as the Pilgrims and Natives did. Christmas used to be about being with your family and celebrating the birth and times of Jesus, who, despite me problems with organized religion, I genuinely consider one of the greatest men ever, real or not.
But all that's being sucked dry. Look at this. Soon, most children won't even remember what Thanksgiving is. And Halloween may be next.
When will it end.
