Crossing over that final threshold into adulthood
This is my last few days of being twenty. I cannot believe I am going to be 21 on monday! Just four more days...I feel so incredibly old and at the same time overjoyed. I'm not sure why. It's not like I don't drink already, I do. I think it's more the principle of the whole thing. I'd like the freedom to walk into a restaurant and say "let me have a drink" or go into any club I want without being turned away. Of course when the novelty of it all wears off in a few weeks it'll be like any other age and then in a year I'll be bitching about wanting to go back to the teen years or some shit like that.
I got my B-day night off and the following day off as well so you know I'm spending the night getting smashed. I don't even want to think about the hangover I'm gonna have on Tuesday.
My Macon Trip is Saturday morning. The Cherry Blossom festival is going to be gorgeous. We're going to leave FL around 4 in the morning. Will definately be a blast. I heard 300,000 Yoshino Cherry Blossoms will be in bloom. Must take many pics.
Also B-day related, I ordered myself The Velvet Goldmine as an early b-day present to myself. I saw that at Backbooth and have been trying to get my paws on it since. FYE had it to order so it'll prob. be in next week...Can't go wrong with a movie loosely inspired by David Bowie featuring Glam, bi-boys *Mmmm* Ewan Mcgregor and Christian Bale and Radiohead music (Thom Yorke more specifically). It's like a wet dream lol.
As for actual b-day presents, I'm pretty sure Mom is getting me Brokeback Mountain and Dad may be getting me Jarhead we will see. I got my fingers crossed for both...
Anyhoo, just got back from work so I want to change and get comfortable. Dad's making shrimp scampi if he ever wakes up.....
