Afraid of Americans? You Should Be

Apr 22, 2009 00:24

Ted Nugent (yes, the Ted Nugent) has an article posted on US News & World Report where he opines on the topic of gun control (his idea of that is a center mass double-tap) and legislation of the sort to try and disarm us, like people in the UK and around Europe are disarmed. In the comments section, I saw several people who claimed to be "afraid of Americans". To them all I can say is, I hope you're very afraid of us, especially if you come knocking on my door telling me to surrender to your way of living.

I hope you're government is also afraid of us. I would hate to see the underground movement here in this country. I'm sure it would put the French Underground of WWII fame to shame in scope and boldness and clarity of purpose.

The Founding Fathers of this nation had a very specific purpose, which they did tell us, for giving us such a bold right. Quite simply it was to oppose tyrannical government (much like the one that is coalescing now). Quite simply it was to make sure society was as polite as could be. After all, is a purse snatcher going to risk his life for the hope of a few dollars in the purse? Is a mugger going to risk his cowardly neck for your newest pair of sneakers? Is a rapist going to risk his measly life for that sense of power and control?

Some might, and they would pay the price if they happened to choose the wrong target, most though would rather keep their lives I imagine. Self-preservation runs strong even in the lowest scum and the most villainous villains. It's not just a human thing, it's a Life thing.

I won't bother throwing statistics at you, I've done that before and many of you are probably still not convinced (maybe you don't trust statistics based on actual data?). I won't bother brow-beating you, I've tried that before and only come off as infantile.

So I'll just have this to say.

Be afraid, be very afraid. We're armed and ready to defend ourselves. I can use a rifle fairly well and know my way around handling a pistol.
