Well, it's been quite some time since I posted, and everyone on here probably belongs to the damnable MySpace, so that means everyone won't be on here anymore *Kills MySpace*. Anywho, let's go for an update, shall we?
Since my boot camp graduation, in June, I made it down here to Charleston, SC all in one piece... Thankfully. THe damn plane ride felt (and smelled) like someone dropped a series-chain of Cherry Bombs in the septic tank.
My A-School (Or preliminary school for my rating for those of you who may not know what that is), went well. I passed and graduated in October as a Machinist's Mate 3rd Class (E-4), and enjoyed some time off while waiting to go to my next set of classes.
Started my new set of classes just a couple of weeks ago, and it's all a bunch of theoretical bullshit. Unfortunately I can't tell you what I'm learning, because that would incorporate me coming to your front doorstep to cease the existance we all share. I wouldn't want to do that, considering you're all my friends. "National Security", "Secrets of the Navy" it's all a hunk of bullshit. The Russians, British, Germans, Japanese, Koreans, and most of the other counteries on this measly rock that have some sort of intelligence probably already know what we're learning in school. Especially those Russians... Damn them and their keeping us in a state of paranoia during the Cold War.
So, seeing as to how it's Christmas, most of you are probably guessing that I'm going to be taking leave to go back to Michigan to see the folks. I sure as hell hope you didn't put any money down, because you'd be in the poorhouse and then some. I went on leave after I got out of A-School (As approved by the command after students graduate), my duty division filled out leave chits to go home for Christmas time. In other words, I got screwed out of it.
Big deal? No, not so much. Granted I love them and haven't seen any of my family since June, but to spend 10 days with them would seem a little extreme for me right now.
But, I'm not totally getting screwed out of the deal wither...
I got put on a rotating watchbill for the Stand-down, but it's not so bad. 1 12-hour straight shift, and I have 2-1/2 days off. Not too shabby.
Anyways, Merry ChristmaHaunaQuanza to all, and a nice warm bed for me.
