so.... here is my speech.... hope i win
I believe that no one person can run a club, everyone must be involved in all aspects of the process it takes to run the club. Last year I was in student government, and I was very active in DECA. I did a lot of fund raising and I went to the Conference. I volunteer every year to work at the Maine Children's Cancer yard sale. I believe in giving your time for the greater good, and doing something worth while. Like the Maine Children's Cancer yard sale I believe DECA is something worth while to devote my time to. I didn't run for office because I wasn't sure how the club operated. Now that I have a year of experience in the club I feel that I can help make it better.
Fund raising is a major part of this organization. We are in need of some new ideas for fund raisers. As vice president I will work hard with everyone and anyone who has ideas to help with the fund raising process. I have a lot of ideas on how to motivate people, and get them interested in the club. We need to get our name out into the city. We need to get the citizens involved, and excited about our DECA chapter. I will work hard with the reporter to help get our name out there. The more people in the community know about us, the better our fund raising will be.
Too many times I have had people ask me "what is DECA?" as vice president I will work hard to make the club and it's members well known. I hope by the end of the year i will never hear anyone say "what is DECA" again!
