Not much of import has happened this month, but if I were to make a note to myself about it for future reference, it probably ought to be that while coming up with indoorsy things to do is a reasonable idea in a time of the year in which you're lucky to get a couple of hours of sunlight a day if that (which go by while you're stuck in a windowless cell), reading manga penned by Mohiro Kitoh is probably still not a thing to be done in the fine month of November. (Possibly ever.)
My work at the museum is, at least for the time being, done and finished, while in a month or so, I'm probably going to be a PhD student. That leaves me with a month or so to mull things over! I don't know how it's even possible to feel that there's something anticlimactic about essentially getting to do reasearch and dig up ancient things in Turkey (that's something that's likely going to happen next year, the chance of a bullet rain check notwithstanding), but honestly I do feel pretty divided about it. I've always liked studying and I doubt that's ever going to change, but at the same time, honestly there's something appealing about being a regular productive citizen contributing to society - a vague (if, in these days, entirely unwarranted) sense of security and stability. That's something I'm going to miss!
Ah well, I should stop whining. Sometimes things get better too. For one thing, astoundingly, Finland is going to have gay marriage now. Yay for democracy!
