Ellie Diskordia looked around nervously at their surroundings. "I'm still not sure about this, Dr N..." she said, albeit quietly, in case she attracted any unwanted attention. The several apparent demons standing near to them and the arbiter didn't look like they were in a particularly good mood.
Dr Nirous Brio, disgraced scientist and fanatical user of Persil non-bio, didn't even look around to her. "Don't be stupid, Ellie. Everything will work out just fine! In fact, now that I've had time to think about it, this really couldn't have happened at a better time! I don't need the support of those simpering, moralistic fools over in Paragon City if I can get funding from Arachnos to continue my research! And now we're so much closer to those fascinating 'Infected' that have helped me along so much..."
Ellie shifted uncomfortably. "Yes, but... Did you have to replace my arm?"
"The Rogue Isles are a dangerous place, Ellie. I couldn't have the best lab assistant I've ever had going about without any means to protect herself, now could I?"
"...it itches."
"That will stop in time. You're still using the cream I gave you?"
"Yes. And the WD-40."
"Good, good." Dr Brio turned away from the arbiter finally, brandishing two small ID cards. He handed one of them to Ellie. "Here's your ID card. Don't lose it; this will get us access to labs and transport around here, as well as make sure that the local police know that we're 'legitimate', so to speak. Don't want them to think we're undercover Longbow operatives or anything like that, do we?"
"...no, Dr N."
"Right then!" Dr Brio rubbed his hands together in anticipation. "Shall we get started? I hear there's some fascinating wildlife around these parts that I'd love to take a closer look at. Some sort of giant snakes..." And he headed off towards the ramshackle part of town known as Darwin's Landing.
Ellie sighed quietly. "Yes, Dr N," she said, and started to follow him.
Yes, jackthecake decided to join me on Virtue last night, and the two of us created new RP characters for the occasion - Dr Nitrous Brio and his long-suffering lab assistant Ellie Diskordia.
So I just felt I had to do a little something to commemorate the event...
