I've been tired, alright? Really, really tired. And busy. And of course there was the week or so that we were without net access because of NTL's continuing ability to fail to find its arse even with both hands and a map.
So, a brief rundown of things:
- weather: Cold. Very very cold.
- health: Not brilliant. Like I said, I've not had too much energy to do much of anything - including get out of bed - over the past couple of weeks.
- housing: Stalled. First they wanted someone to sign off for me as a 'guarantor', because I am a student and therefore deeply untrustworthy and likely to destroy any house I live in and run off without paying any rent, and despite the fact that I have a partner with a job. Then they were going to insist on calling the landlord for a reference. Well, you can see where that was going to go. So we hand to ditch that idea and now it's just a case of signing up to housing associations in the area and hoping that they can find us somewhere.
- social anger: High. Am currently engaged in an argument with someone who thinks that South Dakota's new 'coathanger' law is a good thing, and that "people who don't want children shouldn't have sex". Well, I'll just go sew up my genitalia now, shall I?
- misc: In the week we were without net access, I started knitting patterned squares for blankets. I'm still doing them now.
