I watched one of those TV programmes that collects weird ads and TV clips from TV shows all around the world earlier. One clip was from a Russian talk show that is apparently the Russian equivalent of the Jerry Springer show (Jerry Springer hosts a talk show in the mornings over here now. It's pretty much the only thing that gets me out of bed before half nine). The extract we got to see was a young couple who had agreed to get married on the show - but before they could get to it, a man in a wedding dress turns up and claims to be having an affair with the groom. It then turns out that he was just hired by the groom's ex-wife - who the new bride didn't know about - because she wanted to ruin his wedding any way possible.
Pretty standard trash TV stuff. Except for one small problem. No-one had apparently told security that the groom was a martial artist.
The host ended up being half-carried backstage after taking a high kick to the face, and the 'hired groom' got kicked clean across the stage. Total and utter carnage.
I almost feel guilty for laughing.
(In unrelated news, my new weatherpixie tells me that the temperature is about 24 degrees Centigrade at the moment. I think I'm going to die.)
