I Wanna Be Close to Them

Death held many things for him. It reunited him with his love, his Master, and the people that he cared about greatly. Closing his eyes he couldn’t help but smile at the memory that flooded his mind. The memory that belonged only to his childhood. It had been after he’d left to become a Jedi… no… before then even. Actually, he didn’t know if it was… no, he was wrong. It was after.

“What’s wrong, Anakin?”

“I don’t wanna stay in there.”

“You realize that there’s nothing in there that will hurt you, don’t you?”

“I know but can we do something. Please.”

“Alright.”

Anakin smiled as his Master climbed out of bed and took him down quite a few of the halls and into the training area where the younglings normally practiced. Sitting down he felt his Master pulling him into his lap and proceed to name off the stars.

“Some day I’m gonna fly. I wanna be close to them.”

“I’m sure you will be, my young Padawan.”

He wasn’t sure how long they’d sat there but he’d eventually fallen asleep curled up against his Master, thoughts of being the best star pilot out there on his mind.
