Longest! Week! Ever!

I'm working on a theory that specific periods of time (for example, a year) are going by faster for me because those finite pieces are becoming increasingly smaller percentages of my life.

Summer used to be an endless stretch of hot sidewalks, shady creeks, plinking ice cream trucks, sticky-sweaty vinyl, and road trips. Now it's just a blip on my peripheral radar, a mere fraction of a fiscal-year quarter, a handful of numbers that click through all my tracking devices with no more fanfare than any other bit of datum.

And yet, this has got to have been the longest daggum week ever.

Funny how that works.

Not to be outdone by my newly re-acquired youthful approach to loathsome-activity-based-time-dilation, my usual agreement with my brain to not hurt due to too much maths and/or thinking (mostly through avoidance) has also crumbled in the wake of this interminable week (and also from the impassive/passive-aggressive interactions of the entire IT department - why did I ever have a thing for computer geeks? They are all evil, I tell you, eeeeeviiiiiil.)

Thank goodness for houseguests breaking up the tedium/torture.

Unfortunately, I have been short-strawed to be part of the annual inventory crewe (if I say it that way, I can almost trick myself into thinking that parades and beads will be involved) on Sunday so maybe next week will actually quite literally be the longest work week ever, what with being a six-day work-week plus a whole day of nothing but the maths.

S'aight. I have about 600 pages of DH goodness to get through to ease my pain.

signs of creeping senility, always look on the bright side of life, work
