new prospective.

You view things very differently when you are in the process of auditioning for the TV show that you are watching. Today I've been catching up on Project Runway.  So if you haven't put it together i'm in the process of sending in my application, video, and portfolio this coming week.  In all honesty I haven't been excited about the show in several years, none of the designers jump out at me, although i've got to say Emilo does some amazing work th, his lack of humility totally kills everything he creates, and it makes me question if he would have made it this far if he were competing against some of the amazing designers from the first 4 seasons.

I have no idea if i'll even make it on, but i feel that i'm ready to take that leap to try. i've been told since the second season that i needed to be on there, but i didn't feel that i was ready professionally. But years have past, business has increased, and i've been putting some amazing work out there on the runways of the pageantry system and at dragon con last year.  I have the pieces that i feel could put me on there, and i have the looks, talent, buzzwords, and hopefully the personality to make it on and get me through it.

I can't say everything i create is "steampunk" far from it. But i would say most of my personal work does come from a highly historical context, be it design, construction, or my use of color. I'd like to think I might be able to bring a little nostalgia to the show and give it that pop that it used to have when it was fresh and every designer really had a strong view point.

Alas the sewing machine calls me. At least my  talent for procrastinating has taught me to always "Make it Work."
