A busy work week starts tomorrow.  But as long as I can get things done I can get back to the corset i was working on a couple weeks ago.

I've found two fab new materials that may whined up becoming part of my steampunk projects.

The first is a lovely semi stretch antique gold PVC.

It's a really nice grade with velvety backing, features a really nice embossed pattern which gives it sort of a stamped armor feel. I have NO clue what I will use it for but figured it was worth the $6 a yard from the Red Tag table. It would be fun to use for an armored look, or a clock work doll costume. We'll see.

But THIS is what i am most excited about.

I bought all that WalMart had, sadly it was only just over 10 yards. It's woven in a pattern rather reminiscent of the late Victorian era and features sheer spots within the pattern. It would be great for a reproduction piece, since sheers like this were common in the summer months but would be constructed with a built in chemise.
However I think i'd rather play up the stuffy pattern do do a very traditional look and leave it unlined. Add a really bright corset underneath to spice it up. It would be even more amazing if the model's hair was the same color as the corset to further force the color out through the fabric.

anywho. Time to bike!

fabric finds.
